The mounted armor plated Jurassic dinosaur skeleton shown in the following photos was named Gargoyleosaurus just this year. It is a distant relative of the more famous Ankylosaur, a similar but much more recent dinosaur found in Cretaceous formations of the western United States. Nodasaurus is a type of Ankylosaur. The mounted skeleton shown in the following photos is a cast prepared by the Denver Museum of Natural history from their specimen DMNH #27726. It was on display at the Denver Gem and Mineral Show 1998.
